The Viqua VH410 Cobalt Series Monitored Ultraviolet System incorporates high-output UV lamp technology coupled with the redesigned Cobalt series chamber, moving the inlet/outlet ports from an axial to S-shaped configuration making it more compact and easier to install.

What is Ultraviolet Light?

Ultraviolet or UV light has a wavelength longer than x-rays but shorter than visible light and is a form of electromagnetic radiation. Ultraviolet light is emitted by our Sun, however most mid and higher range wavelengths are blocked by ozone in our atmosphere.

How Does Ultraviolet Sterilization Work?

UV water purifiers use the UV-C range because of its germicidal abilities. In this range, the light breaks molecular bonds in the DNA of viruses and bacteria, rendering them unable to reproduce and effectively killing them.

What is a UV Dose?

A UV dose is determined by transmittance, flow rate, turbidity, lamp age, and sleeve fouling — all of which affect sterilization effectiveness.

It is strongly recommended by all UV manufacturers to pre-filter your water with a 5-micron sediment cartridge for maximum UV efficiency.
